swissceramics, the Swiss Ceramics Association, is the Swiss-wide amalgamation of the ceramic professions from art-handicraft to design to contemporary art. Since 1959 swissceramics, as the only active country-wide organization of its kind, has assisted in the creative development of its members in all facets of the ceramic process.

swissceramics energetically supports the physical presence, appreciation and recognition of contemporary swiss ceramics in the public sphere. The association insures the quality of professional education by working closely with educational institutions (www.shapingclay.ch and www.swissceramics.ch/bildung).

swissceramics finances itself through membership dues, as well as fundraising for specific projects from various cantonal authorities and private institutions. The normal yearly budget amounts to about 80’000 franks.The association is presided over by a board of directors comprised of 4-7 members whose work is supported by various working groups and individuals.

swissceramics is in constant communication with different ceramic organizations in Europe, the USA and Asia and is a member of the AIC (International Academy of Ceramics).
